I would like to thank Midland Border Terrier Club for inviting me to judge and to thank my Stewards Pete Armstrong and Sue Baxter. Unfortunately, the entry was somewhat reduced due to the awful storm conditions keeping many at home, but I was pleased with the quaity of dogs present for me to go over and very happy with my winners.

Raw youngster, just 7 months old, nice type of puppy. Typical head. Neat ears, good mouth. Narrow front and well laid shoulders. Easily spanned. Best of double coats. Good length of loin and good rear angulation, short tail set on ok. Was a little unsettled on the move today.

Head of correct proportions, flat skull and good ear placement. Strong jaw with big teeth. Narrow front and flat rib. Thick, loose pelt with just enough coat today. Easily spanned. Moved ok.

Smart dog with a good head, correct earset and flat skull. Narrow front, easily spanned. Good length of rib and strong loin, good rear angulation. Tail set on well. Harsh double Jacket and thick pelt. Moved ok.

2nd – Bordergold Rudolph At Beckholm (Mrs A Sutton)

Upto size, deeper in chest than 1. preferred rib of one. Correct bite, good dark eye and expression. Ok for length of back. He was a little unsettled in the ring today.

Smart dog, not as narrow as 1. Good head proportions. Good bite with big teeth. Correct harsh, double jacket. Well muscled rear quarters. Moved well both ways.

Good length of rib. Strong loin and well angulated hocks. Correct harsh jacket and loose pelt. Tailset good. Moved well around the ring. BD, BOS

Another nice baby. Ok for head, earset good. Hash double jacket with loose pelt. Preferred rear angulation of No 1. Moved well.

2nd – Southash Lavender Blue At Oatberry (Mrs K Tuffin)

Feminine head on this girl with keen expression. Correct bite. Good reach of neck. Narrow front and easily spanned. Ok for coat. Tail set on well. Moved ok.

Heavier type of bitch than No 1. Typical head but ears were flying a bit today. Coat ok. A bit unsettled on the move.
